The bodies found in the bayfront Surf City home late Sunday were identified Monday afternoon as a man and woman who were the victims of a “targeted attack,” the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said.
The office did not say how John Enders, 87, of Surf City, and Francoise Pitoy, 75, of Manchester, died. More information will be known once their autopsies are completed, it said.
“As we stated earlier, both deaths are suspicious in nature but there is no danger to the public at this time. Our investigation indicates this was a targeted attack against both decedents,” County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a statement.
