Under Wraps writer & director Alex Zamm chats about adapting the classic Disney Channel Original Movie and humanizing a friendly neighborhood zombie.
Disney is going back to the start, bringing back the first Disney Channel Original Movie from 1997: Under Wraps. The remake, which premieres on October 1, centers on three small-town kids on the verge of Halloween who happen upon a living mummy that just wants to reunite with his final resting place. While they are on the run from scary criminals, they learn to confront their own fears at the same time.
Director Alex Zamm (A Christmas Prince) was also tasked with writing the adaptation of the original film, which was updated for 2021 and went through a few exciting plot changes as well. But despite the differences, the themes of friendship and facing one’s fears remain the same.
