Driving instructor attacked in carjacking attempt in N.J. supermarket parking lot, cops say

A 31-year-old man faces carjacking charges after police in Bergen County say he tried to pull a driving instructor out of a car and then beat another instructor who intervened.

Isiah T. Pringle, of Albany, New York, was charged with two counts of carjacking and one count of weapons possession in the 11 a.m. Friday attack during driver training in Hackensack, authorities said.

Pringle tried to carjack a vehicle as adult students were taking driving lessons with their instructors in a supermarket parking lot on Pleasantview Avenue, according to police Capt. Darrin DeWitt.
