People are flocking to get tested for COVID. Don’t panic — it’s not what you think.

New Jersey residents are flocking to get tested for COVID-19.

Testing in the state recently hit its highest levels since the spring, and residents in some counties are struggling to find appointments, especially on weekends.

New Jersey conducted an average of 41,700 PCR tests per day in September, “the highest average number of daily tests since April 2021,” a spokeswoman for the state Health Department said in an email.
