20th Century Studios unveils a new trailer for Ron’s Gone Wrong offering a look at the animated comedy about a robotic best friend on the fritz. The film is set in the near future and centers on Barney, a socially-awkward middle-schooler as he receives a “Best Friend out of the Box,” also known as B-Bot, a walking, talking, digitally-connected device that’s the rage amongst kids though finds it to be malfunctioning and cause chaos in his town. The cast for Ron’s Gone Wrong is led by Jack Dylan Grazer as Barney and Zach Galifianakis as Ron alongside Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, Justice Smith, Rob Delaney, Kylie Cantrall, Ricardo Hurtado, Marcus Scribner and Thomas Barbusca.
Development on Ron’s Gone Wrong first began in late 2017 when it was announced that Locksmith Animation would be making their feature debuts with the film. The project would linger in development for a few years at 20th Century Fox before seeing multiple delays as the studio would be acquired by Disney and the COVID-19 pandemic pushing the creative team to produce the film remotely. With Ron’s Gone Wrong now complete, 20th Century Studios is looking to build anticipation for its impending arrival.
