The newly announced ZTE Axon 30 isn’t the first 5G smartphone with an under-display camera—that distinction belongs to the Axon 20 5G—but it does seem like an improvement. While there is interest in a smartphone screen that isn’t disrupted by a divot or notch in order to house a selfie camera, the Axon 20 5G’s selfie camera and screen just weren’t up to snuff.

ZTE is looking to change that with the Axon 30, boasting better screens and more advanced integration with the front-facing camera.
