Check cash on the actual dates your income arrives and bills leave. Find a pre-payday gap even when the month ends in surplus.
A positive month-end balance does not pay a bill due before payday. Enter available cash and dated transactions to see the shortfall that monthly totals can miss.
This editable example uses the current UTC month as a date template; all amounts are hypothetical. Replace them with your own schedule. Do not enter account numbers or personal identifiers.
02 / The timing test
Editable hypothetical example. 2026-10 · USD throughout.
A cash shortfall first appears on 2026-10-02, even if the month finishes with money left. Confirm income availability and ask a biller about an agreed date change before a payment is due. A negative modeled balance does not grant an overdraft.
The lowest modeled balance is USD -800.00 on 2026-10-02. The additional reserve is max(0, chosen buffer minus lowest balance), added at the start; it is not a recommended emergency-fund size.

USD · 2026-10. Lines connect entered-scenario daily values, not observed bank balances.
Zero is included in the scale. The within-day low can be below the closing balance. Read the ledger to see the assumed transaction order.

Method & limits
Opening cash plus each dated inflow minus each dated outflow gives the running balance. Calculation uses integer cents. Transactions on the same day follow your selected income/expense ordering, then their entered order within each type. The chart shows day-end cash and the lowest balance encountered during each day, including its opening balance.
Only entered transactions in the selected month are included. Nothing automatically repeats into the following month. This does not model clearing delays, pending holds, interest, overdraft fees, credit availability, taxes you have not entered, or currency conversion. Restricted funds should not be counted as unrestricted available cash. A savings transfer is an outflow here if it removes money from the cash being planned.
